Tracey Smith…

I began painting again after a long break between ending school and retiring from work
and took every opportunity I could to attend workshops and courses on painting and drawing.

Painting always offers excitement with challenges to be met and explored, and in my affectionately named ‘Chatsworth Studio’ at the bottom of my garden, surrounded by work old and new I can see an ever increasing interest and movement towards abstraction.

My more recent work reflects my love of colour shape and line wether it be a landscape from a place I have visited near or far, or from a small patch of colour in my tangled garden.

Nature and landscape will always provide inspiration as it composes itself in a multitude of ways to be seen and recreated on the canvas.
