Rachel Rogers.

My earliest memories are creating my own illustrations for my favourite stories.

I gained a 2:1(Hons) degree in Illustration from the University of Wales in the early 1990’s.

Then after a few years away from art, my love affair with it was rekindled and I haven’t put down my paintbrush since!

The beautiful, wild and varied scenery of the British coastline is my favourite subject. Whether I’m painting from the dramatic clifftops of the South West, or closer to home around the Wash, I try to capture all its aspects, from crashing waves, noisy seagulls to colourful rock pools. I also love landscape painting and life drawing.

My process of working usually begins on site with my sketchbook.

I am incredibly lucky to be able to visit so many beautiful places.

When I return home my finished work evolves from a mixture of memory, looking back over my sketchbooks and a little imagination!

I am currently exhibiting my paintings in Gallery St Martins, Lincoln.
