Our First Exhibition
The Drawing Society Exhibition moved to the city’s Exchange Arcade in 1910 following interest from the press and public, then to a room in the new Central Library eventually finding its ideal home in the Usher Gallery from 1927.

Autumn Exhibition 2017
The exhibition ran from 16 September to 15 October 2017, featuring works of art from its members who live across the county, giving them the chance to showcase their talents to the public.
This popular exhibition, displayed in the Usher Gallery, showcases the work of some of Lincolnshire’s most talented artists.
The Lincolnshire Artists’ Society first exhibited at The Usher Gallery in 1927 and has exhibited there many times over the years, including their 110th Annual Exhibition in 2016. The Usher is welcoming them back for an extra show this autumn.
Alan Parker, Chairman of the Society, said: “We are honoured and delighted to be invited back to the Usher this year. The exhibition promises to be spectacular with new works from members, who relish the opportunity to display their work in such a wonderful environment”.

110th Anniversary Exhibition 2016
The Lincolnshire Artists’ Society will be celebrating its 110th anniversary this year with an exhibition that looks to honour past and present members, as well as the work of the society over the past century. One of the main attractions at the event is the ’10 Year Wall’, which celebrates the work of prominent artists who have exhibited with the Society over the last ten years. This will include work by David Paton, a previous Chairman of the Society who recently passed away. Other artists featured will include: Max Marschner, Jacky Lee, Ken Lee and David Hollinshead.
As well as the exhibition itself, the society will be celebrating the publication of a second book about the past 10 years of work by the Lincolnshire Artists’ Society. The book was written by local author Edward Mayor and goes on sale the day of the opening. The exhibition will feature a number of artworks created by past and current members, with awards being presented to some of the works by the society itself throughout the exhibition.

Usher 2015 Summer Exhibition
The Society showed 129 works including 30 3D pieces against the newly painted grey walls of the large upstairs gallery rooms. The opening was momentous for the three speeches by Carol Butler (Chair), Peter Moss (retiring President) and his successor Ian Walter.
Peter Moss was retiring after serving 18 years as President, handing over to Ian Walter, who has been a staunch supporter of the Society for many years.
As a gift from the Society, Peter was presented with the gift of a figure study by the late artist and LAS member Tony Bartl which had been chosen by invitation from Sheila Bartl’s private collection.
Antonio (Tony) Bartl (1912-1998) had a long and influential association with the Society from 1950 until his death in 1998.
